Wizz Air Reports Soaring Profits and Record Passenger Numbers Despite Grounded Aircraft

Wizz Air has announced that its annual profits more than doubled, reaching €371 million for the year. This financial success was driven by a record 62 million passengers, a significant increase of over 20% from the previous period. The airline achieved these strong results despite major operational challenges, which included the grounding of approximately 45 aircraft for mandatory Pratt & Whitney engine inspections. These grounded planes represent about a fifth of the carrier's fleet. Despite the disruption, for which it is receiving compensation, Wizz Air projects even higher profits for the upcoming financial year.
