Portuguese Airline Omni Aviação Loses Operating License After Filing for Bankruptcy
Portugal's National Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC) has suspended the air operator's certificate for Omni Aviação e Tecnologia. The decision came after the airline filed for bankruptcy, having accumulated significant debts. This suspension means Omni can no longer conduct commercial air transport operations, including its scheduled passenger flights. Founded in 1988, the carrier initially focused on helicopter services before expanding into regional flights. The grounding of Omni adds to a recent trend of financial failures among smaller European airlines.
