Wizz Air Raises Profit Forecast Despite Grounded Fleet, Citing New Airbus Jets
Wizz Air anticipates its annual profits will reach the upper end of its forecast, expecting between €350 million and €375 million. This optimistic outlook persists even though the airline has grounded 45 aircraft due to issues with their Pratt & Whitney engines. The financial impact of the grounded planes has been mitigated by compensation from the engine manufacturer. Furthermore, Wizz Air is actively taking delivery of new, more fuel-efficient Airbus A321neo jets. These new aircraft, combined with strong passenger demand, are helping to offset the capacity reduction and boost financial performance.
