US Air Force Unveils $90M 'Raptor 2.0' Upgrade Plan for F-22 Fleet
The U.S. Air Force has initiated a $90 million upgrade program for its F-22 Raptor fleet, part of a larger modernization effort dubbed 'Raptor 2.0.' This initial investment is the start of a multi-billion dollar plan to maintain the fifth-generation fighter's air superiority. The upgrades will focus on enhancing the jet's advanced stealth coatings, sensors, and communication systems. This program is designed to counter emerging threats from adversaries like China and Russia. The goal is to keep the F-22 dominant until the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) aircraft enters service.
