United Airlines Announces New Two-Class, 50-Seat CRJ450 Regional Jet
United Airlines has revealed plans to introduce a new regional aircraft variant, the CRJ450. This aircraft is a modified version of the existing CRJ700 airframe, reconfigured to seat 50 passengers in a premium two-class layout. The new configuration will include first-class seating, aiming to enhance the passenger experience on regional routes. This strategic move allows United to offer a premium product while complying with pilot scope clause agreements that limit the number of larger regional jets. The project is a collaboration with MHI RJ Aviation Group, with GoJet Airlines slated to operate the aircraft for United Express.
