U.S. Army Aviation Showcases 1,300-Mile Strategic Reach in Talon Reach Exercise

U.S. Army Aviation has successfully demonstrated a significant long-range combat capability during the Talon Reach exercise. Units from the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade flew UH-60M Black Hawk and CH-47F Chinook helicopters 1,300 miles from Fort Campbell, Kentucky, to Dugway Proving Ground, Utah. The complex mission tested the Army's ability to rapidly project air power over vast distances without relying on established infrastructure. The exercise required the use of mobile forward arming and refueling points (FARPs) to support the aircraft en route. This successful demonstration underscores a major advancement in strategic mobility for Army rotary-wing assets.
