This aircraft is a demilitarized and commercially certified version of the MD530F military helicopter. The specific airframe was acquired by Thoroughbred via a U.S. government auction after its service with the former Afghan Air Force. The company performed an extensive conversion process to meet FAA standards for civilian use. The refurbished helicopter was delivered to a private owner in Texas for personal transport.
