Sichuan Airlines Executives Face Investigation for 'Serious Violations'
Three senior executives at Sichuan Airlines, including the former chairman Li Haiying, are under investigation by Chinese authorities. The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) is leading the probe into what it terms "serious violations of discipline and law," a phrase commonly used to denote corruption. Also under scrutiny are the airline's current deputy general manager, Shi Zuyi, and former deputy general manager, Long Wanming. The investigation casts a shadow over the state-owned carrier's leadership and corporate governance. The airline has not yet issued a public statement on the matter.
