Rolls-Royce Secures UK Government Funding for Second UltraFan Demonstrator
Rolls-Royce has received £30 million ($38 million) in UK government funding to support the development of a second UltraFan technology demonstrator. The grant, provided through the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) program, will advance the engine's core architecture. This second phase of testing will focus on high-temperature capabilities within the engine's core. The program aims to mature the UltraFan's revolutionary geared-fan design, which promises a significant leap in fuel efficiency for future aircraft. This follows the successful full-power test run of the first demonstrator in 2023.
