Qantas Airbus A380 Makes Rare Appearance at London Gatwick for Maintenance
A Qantas Airbus A380 was recently spotted at London Gatwick Airport, an unusual destination for the Australian carrier's superjumbo. The aircraft, registered as VH-OQE, was not operating a passenger service but was instead positioned at Gatwick for maintenance. The A380 arrived from Abu Dhabi, where it had just completed a scheduled C-check. Its stop at Gatwick's Etihad Engineering facility was for additional work before re-entering service. The aircraft has since returned to Abu Dhabi and is expected to resume commercial flights between Sydney and Los Angeles.
