NTSB Releases Preliminary Report on Fatal Missouri Skydiving Plane Crash
The National Transportation Safety Board has released its preliminary report on a fatal skydiving plane crash in Butler, Missouri. The Cessna TU206G reportedly experienced engine trouble shortly after takeoff, according to a witness. This witness, also a pilot, observed the aircraft make a steep left turn at a low altitude of 200-300 feet. The report indicates this maneuver was consistent with an aerodynamic stall before the plane descended rapidly. All five people on board, including the pilot and four skydivers, were killed in the July 23rd crash. The investigation is ongoing, and a probable cause has not yet been determined.
