NTSB Releases Preliminary Report on Fatal Experimental Aircraft Crash in Utah
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has issued its preliminary report concerning a fatal plane crash in Box Elder County, Utah. The incident occurred on April 27, 2024, involving an experimental, amateur-built Sonex-B aircraft. Both the pilot and a single passenger were fatally injured in the accident. According to the report, multiple witnesses observed the airplane in a "flat spin" before it impacted the ground near the Promontory Mountains. The aircraft was destroyed upon impact, and an onboard camera recovered from the wreckage has been sent to the NTSB for further analysis.
