NATO Advances All-Domain Surveillance Program Into New Concept Phase

NATO's program to replace its aging E-3 AWACS fleet, known as the Alliance Future Surveillance and Control (AFSC), has officially entered its next concept phase. This stage will focus on refining six potential concepts for an integrated, all-domain surveillance network. The system aims to combine data from space, air, ground, and maritime sensors to provide comprehensive situational awareness. Managed by the NATO Support and Procurement Agency, this phase will evaluate competing industry proposals over the next two years. The ultimate goal is to establish an initial operational capability for the new system by 2035, securing the alliance's long-term surveillance superiority.
