Multiple Fatalities Reported, Dozens Injured as Amtrak Train Derails in Missouri
An Amtrak passenger train derailed in rural Missouri after striking a dump truck at a public crossing. The incident resulted in at least three fatalities and more than 50 injuries. The train, identified as the Southwest Chief, was traveling from Los Angeles to Chicago with 243 passengers and 12 crew members aboard. According to officials, eight train cars and two locomotives derailed in the collision. The National Transportation Safety Board has announced it is sending a team to investigate the crash site.
