Louisiana Set to Lead U.S. in Sustainable Aviation Fuel Production
Louisiana is on the verge of becoming the national leader in renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) capacity. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the state is projected to surpass Texas by the end of 2025. This growth is driven by the expansion of existing facilities and the conversion of traditional petroleum refineries. Projections show Louisiana's capacity could account for 37% of the total U.S. output. Major projects, including expansions at the Diamond Green Diesel and REG Geismar facilities, are central to this significant increase in production.
