Loganair Suspends Key Dundee to London Heathrow Route Indefinitely
Scottish airline Loganair has announced the indefinite suspension of its flights between Dundee and London Heathrow, effective from May 20. The cancellation of this key route is due to a dispute over landing requirements at Heathrow. Specifically, London Heathrow mandates a specific type of radar system for landings in poor visibility, which Loganair's Dundee-based aircraft are not equipped with. This decision effectively severs the only direct air link between the city of Dundee and London. Loganair will, however, continue to operate its other services from Dundee to Orkney and Shetland.
