Kenyan Court Orders Lessor to Pay Renegade Air $95,000 in Dash 8 Lease Dispute
A Kenyan High Court has ruled in favor of Renegade Air in a legal dispute with lessor Elix Aviation Capital. The court ordered Elix Aviation to refund a pre-delivery payment of KES12.7 million (approximately USD95,000) to the airline. The case centered on a security deposit for a De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Dash 8-300 lease that never materialized. Renegade Air argued the aircraft was not delivered as promised, while the lessor claimed the airline failed to meet pre-delivery conditions. The judge found that the lessor failed to prove a breach of contract by Renegade Air. The ruling requires the full deposit to be returned along with interest and legal costs.
