JetBlue A320 Returns to Service After Lightning Strike Disables Weather Radar
A JetBlue Airbus A320, flying from Boston to Tampa, was forced to divert after being struck by lightning shortly after takeoff. The strike disabled the aircraft's weather radar system, a critical component for navigating adverse weather. As a precautionary measure, the flight crew safely redirected the plane to New York's JFK International Airport. Following the incident, the aircraft underwent necessary maintenance and was back in operation approximately 18 hours later, resuming its scheduled routes.
