IndiGo has expanded its international cargo operations by launching a new direct service between Kolkata, India, and Kunming, China. The inaugural flight took place on June 18, 2024, marking a significant step in the airline's freight strategy. This new route will operate twice weekly, utilizing the airline's dedicated freighter aircraft. The service is designed to enhance trade links between the two countries by facilitating the swift transport of goods such as fresh produce, electronics, and pharmaceuticals.
