IFM Investors Launches Multi-Billion Dollar Unsolicited Takeover Bid for Toll Operator Atlas Arteria
Australian toll road operator Atlas Arteria has received an unsolicited, non-binding takeover proposal from IFM Global Infrastructure Fund. The A$10.8 billion (US$7.6bn) offer values Atlas Arteria securities at A$8.10 each. IFM, which already holds a nearly 15% stake in the company, is a major global infrastructure investment manager. Atlas Arteria's board has advised its security holders to take no action at this stage, noting the bid is conditional and not yet a formal offer. The move underscores the high demand for stable infrastructure assets with reliable revenue streams.
