Gulf Ceasefire Eases Pressure on Jet Fuel Prices
A temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hamas has brought relief to the aviation industry by easing pressure on jet fuel prices. The conflict had previously driven up the cost of Brent crude oil, a key determinant of aviation fuel costs. With the announcement of a four-day pause in fighting, fears of oil reaching $100 a barrel have subsided. Consequently, Brent crude prices fell, settling at around $81.96 a barrel. This drop provides a welcome respite for airlines and air cargo operators, whose operational costs are highly sensitive to fuel price fluctuations.
