Guernsey Government Approves Purchase of New ATR 72-600 for Aurigny
The States of Guernsey has agreed to a deal to underwrite the acquisition of a new ATR 72-600 aircraft for its state-owned airline, Aurigny. The £21 million purchase is part of a fleet modernization program aimed at improving service reliability and reducing emissions. This new aircraft will replace an older plane currently in the airline's fleet. The decision followed a debate on the island's air links, with the goal of securing long-term connectivity. The new plane is anticipated to be operational by late 2024 or early 2025.
