France Names New €10 Billion Aircraft Carrier 'France Libre'
French President Emmanuel Macron has announced the name of the country's next-generation nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, which will be called 'France Libre'. The massive warship, developed under the PANG program, is valued at approximately €10 billion. It is designed to replace the current French flagship, the Charles de Gaulle, with an expected entry into service around 2038. The new carrier will feature advanced technologies, including U.S.-made electromagnetic catapults (EMALS), to support future naval fighter aircraft. This project represents a major strategic investment in France's naval power and defense industry.
