Fayetteville Council Unanimously Approves Aviation Academy at Drake Field
The Fayetteville City Council has given unanimous approval for the establishment of a new aviation academy at Drake Field. This initiative, developed in partnership with Fayetteville Public Schools, aims to provide specialized career and technical training for students. The council's support greenlights a 25-year lease for a new 10,000-square-foot facility to be constructed at the municipal airport. The program is designed to create a direct career pathway for local students into the aviation industry. It will help address the national pilot shortage by fostering talent at a local level.
