Fayetteville City Council Unanimously Approves Aviation Academy at Drake Field
The Fayetteville City Council has given unanimous approval for a ground lease to establish a new aviation academy at Drake Field. This initiative is a partnership between the city and the Fayetteville School District. The program aims to address the nationwide shortage of pilots and mechanics by providing a direct career path for high school students. A new 20,000-square-foot facility will be constructed at the municipal airport to house the academy. The curriculum will offer students hands-on training and education in various aviation-related fields.
