F-15EX Eagle II Flies with CCA Drone Wingman in Pacific
The U.S. Air Force has released new photos showing an F-15EX Eagle II fighter jet flying in formation with an uncrewed drone. The flight took place over the Pacific Ocean as part of the Valiant Shield 24 exercise. The drone is a modified aircraft acting as a testbed for the Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) program. This event marks a significant public step in the Air Force's plan to team crewed fighters with autonomous wingmen. These CCAs are being developed to extend the capabilities of fighters in missions such as surveillance, electronic warfare, and carrying extra weapons.
