European Commission Formulating New EU-Wide Aviation Strategy
The European Commission is developing a new aviation strategy to replace the framework established in 2015. This updated policy aims to address current geopolitical challenges, the climate crisis, and rapid technological advancements affecting the sector. Key pillars of the strategy will focus on enhancing competitiveness, sustainability, resilience, and safety across the European Union. The initiative will also tackle long-standing issues like air traffic management modernization through the Single European Sky and airport capacity. A public consultation is currently underway to gather stakeholder input before the strategy is finalized by the end of the year.
