European Aviation Safety Agency Reports Multiple Safety Lapses on Air India Aircraft
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has flagged several significant safety lapses on Air India aircraft following recent ramp inspections. The spot checks, conducted under the SAFA programme, identified issues on Boeing 777 and 787 models. Among the findings were a cracked passenger window pane and a non-functional emergency locator transmitter, which the flight crew was reportedly unaware of. In response to the EASA report, India's aviation regulator, the DGCA, has launched an investigation and asked Air India for a detailed report on the matter.
