Pilot Killed in Single-Engine Cessna Crash at Piseco Airport
A pilot has died following the crash of a single-engine plane at Piseco Airport in the Adirondacks. The victim was identified as 80-year-old Charles S. Kausch of Northville. The incident occurred Saturday morning as his 1956 Cessna 172 was taking off from the airport in Hamilton County. According to State Police, the aircraft went down in a wooded area just beyond the runway. The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the cause of the fatal crash.
