E-commerce and Asia Demand Drive LATAM Cargo's Strong Q1 Performance Amid Fuel Spike

LATAM Cargo reported a robust first quarter, with revenue climbing 26.6% year-on-year to $1.1 billion. This growth was primarily driven by a surge in e-commerce traffic and sustained strong demand from Asian markets. Despite a significant 28.5% increase in fuel prices, the airline managed to improve its cargo yields by 19.3%. The carrier maintained a healthy load factor of 56.6% while continuing to expand its fleet with converted Boeing 767 freighters. This performance highlights the air cargo sector's resilience, successfully leveraging key growth markets to offset rising operational costs.
