Davis-Monthan A-10 Squadron Deploys to Alaska for 'Operation Slice Ice' Training
The U.S. Air Force's 354th Fighter Squadron has deployed twelve A-10C Thunderbolt II aircraft from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona, to Alaska. This deployment, named 'Operation Slice Ice,' is a key readiness exercise designed to test the squadron's agile combat employment capabilities. The primary goal is for personnel and aircraft to adapt and operate effectively in a harsh arctic climate, a stark contrast to their home desert environment. Operating from Eielson Air Force Base, the training ensures the squadron is prepared to project combat airpower in diverse and demanding locations worldwide.
