Daily Brief: Super Hornet Readiness Falters, Airbus Boosts A320 Production, and eVTOL Ventures Progress
The U.S. Navy reports its F/A-18E/F Super Hornet fleet mission-capable rate has fallen below 50%, significantly missing its 80% readiness target due to parts and maintenance depot issues. In commercial aviation, Airbus is expanding its Hamburg facility to support its goal of producing 75 A320neo family aircraft per month by 2026. The urban air mobility sector is also advancing, with Volocopter partnering with Bristow Group to develop eVTOL services in the U.S. and UK. Furthermore, Eve Air Mobility has selected a location in Brazil for its first eVTOL production plant. On the defense front, a GAO report is urging the Pentagon to comprehensively review its hypersonic testing infrastructure to meet future demands.
