Critically Endangered Mountain Bongos Arrive in Kenya via Special Air Cargo Flight
Kenya has received a special shipment of ten critically endangered Mountain Bongos at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. The rare antelopes were transported from the United States as part of a crucial international conservation and breeding program. This air cargo operation, a collaboration between the Kenya Wildlife Service and conservation partners, is a significant step towards reintroducing the species into its native habitat. The bongos will first acclimate at the Mawingu Mountain Bongo Sanctuary before their eventual release. The successful transport highlights the vital role of specialized air freight in global wildlife conservation efforts.
