China Eastern Launches Vienna-Xi'an Service, Boosting Airport's Cargo Capacity
China Eastern Airlines has inaugurated a new direct flight service connecting Vienna International Airport with Xi'an, the capital of China's Shaanxi province. This marks the first-ever direct connection between the two cities, operating three times a week. The route is serviced by an Airbus A330-200 aircraft, which provides significant belly-hold cargo capacity in addition to passenger transport. This new link is expected to substantially increase air freight volume, benefiting industries that rely on the transport of goods such as electronics and pharmaceuticals. The service strengthens economic ties and positions Vienna as a key air cargo hub for Central Europe connecting to China.
