CALB Begins Mass Production of Aviation-Grade Batteries for XPeng's Flying Car Division
Chinese battery manufacturer CALB has officially commenced mass production of its aviation-grade power cells. These specialized batteries are being produced for XPeng AeroHT, the flying car affiliate of electric vehicle maker XPeng. The new cells boast a high energy density of over 320 Wh/kg and can support extremely high discharge rates essential for vertical takeoff. This development marks a significant milestone in the industrialization of the 'low-altitude economy.' It is a critical step toward the commercial launch of XPeng's eVTOL aircraft, including its modular 'Land Aircraft Carrier' model.
