British Airways Parent IAG Confirms Order for Six Airbus A321XLRs for Aer Lingus

International Airlines Group (IAG), the parent company of British Airways and Aer Lingus, has finalized an order for six new Airbus A321XLR aircraft. These long-range, single-aisle jets are specifically designated for the Irish carrier, Aer Lingus. The acquisition will enable the airline to launch new transatlantic routes and replace its older Boeing 757 aircraft. Valued at approximately $1 billion at list prices, this investment signals a strategic expansion of Aer Lingus's long-haul network. The first of these new aircraft is expected to be delivered in 2024.
