International Airlines Group (IAG), the parent company of British Airways, has confirmed a major aircraft order to modernize its short-haul fleet. The group has placed a firm order for 50 Boeing 737 MAX jets, with options for 100 more, finalizing a letter of intent from 2019. The Boeing order includes the 737-8200 and the larger 737-10 variants, with deliveries expected between 2025 and 2028. In addition, IAG has also ordered 37 new Airbus A320neo aircraft with options for a further 50. These fuel-efficient planes will be allocated among IAG's airlines to replace older aircraft.
