Boeing Confirms IT Outage Disrupted Second-Quarter Aircraft Production
Boeing has confirmed that a significant IT outage in its Commercial Airplanes division disrupted production and deliveries during the second quarter. The issue, described by the CFO as a "data anomaly," affected the systems used to deploy manufacturing instructions to the factory floor. This disruption primarily impacted the 737 MAX production line at the company's Renton facility. While the technical problem has since been resolved, it contributed to lower delivery figures for May and June. Boeing stated it is working to recover from the production slowdown in the coming months. The company maintains its goal of delivering 400 to 450 737s this year despite the setback.
