Ascend Airways to Surrender UK Air Operator Certificate Before Launch
Ascend Airways, a UK-based subsidiary of Airhub Airlines, has announced its decision to voluntarily surrender its Air Operator Certificate (AOC). The carrier, which is part of the Lithuanian GetJet Airlines Group, had only received its certificate from the UK Civil Aviation Authority in December 2023. This move follows a re-evaluation of the group’s strategic direction. Ascend Airways had planned to operate two Boeing 737-800 aircraft for charter and ACMI services. The airline will now be wound down without ever having operated a commercial flight.
