Airbus and MTU Aero Engines Partner to Develop Hydrogen Propulsion Systems
Airbus has partnered with MTU Aero Engines to advance hydrogen-powered aircraft technology. This collaboration is a key part of Airbus's ZEROe program, which aims to introduce a zero-emission commercial aircraft by 2035. MTU will contribute its expertise to develop and test a hydrogen-powered fuel cell engine pod demonstrator. The technology will be flight-tested on an A380 testbed aircraft around the middle of this decade. This partnership marks a significant step forward in the aviation industry's efforts to decarbonize and achieve climate-neutral flight.
