Air Transat Postpones Launch of Montreal-Accra Service
Air Transat has postponed the launch of its new nonstop route between Montreal and Accra, Ghana. The service, which was set to be the carrier's first in Africa, was originally planned for the summer 2024 season. The airline cited operational challenges, including obtaining necessary approvals and airport infrastructure limitations, as the reason for the delay. The inaugural flight is now tentatively scheduled for the winter 2024-25 season. In the meantime, Air Transat will reallocate the aircraft capacity to increase frequencies on its popular transatlantic routes. This includes adding more flights to destinations like Paris, London, and Marseille.
