Air Canada Reveals High-Density Airbus A321XLR Cabin with Just 14 Business Seats, No Premium Economy
Air Canada has unveiled the cabin configuration for its upcoming fleet of 30 Airbus A321XLR aircraft, scheduled for delivery from 2025. The jets will feature a two-class layout with 182 seats, comprising just 14 lie-flat business class pods and a high-density 168-seat economy cabin. Notably, the airline has decided to omit a premium economy section entirely from this long-range narrowbody. This strategic choice aims to maximize capacity on thinner, leisure-focused transatlantic routes where demand for premium seating is lower. The configuration allows Air Canada to efficiently serve niche markets that do not justify a larger widebody aircraft.
