African Ministers Endorse Coordinated Air Cargo Corridors to Boost Continental Trade
African ministers of transport and trade have officially endorsed a strategic framework to establish coordinated air cargo corridors across the continent. This initiative, developed by the African Civil Aviation Commission (AFCAC), aims to significantly enhance intra-African trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). The plan identifies key airports and routes to create efficient logistics pathways, reducing transit times and costs. By streamlining cargo movement, the corridors are expected to make air transport a more effective catalyst for economic integration and growth. The African Development Bank has provided support for this pivotal project.
