3M Announces Partnership With JetZero On Blended-Wing Body Aircraft Materials
Materials science company 3M has revealed a new collaboration with aviation startup JetZero. The partnership will focus on supplying advanced lightweight materials for JetZero's blended-wing body (BWB) demonstrator. 3M will provide composites, bonding adhesives, and surface films crucial for the aircraft's innovative structure. This collaboration is a key step in enabling the BWB's design, which aims to significantly reduce fuel burn and emissions compared to traditional aircraft. JetZero is targeting a first flight for its full-scale Z-5 demonstrator in 2027.
