Zambia Airways Appoints Ethiopian Airlines Veteran Aman Wole Gurmu as New CEO
Zambia Airways has officially appointed Aman Wole Gurmu as its new Chief Executive Officer following a competitive selection process. Gurmu brings 24 years of extensive experience from Ethiopian Airlines, where he served in numerous senior management roles, including A/VP for Global Sales Development. His appointment is seen as a key step for the national carrier, which was relaunched in December 2021. The airline operates as a joint venture, with the Zambian government holding a 55% stake and Ethiopian Airlines holding the remaining 45%. The board expressed confidence that Gurmu's leadership will drive the airline's growth and success.
