World's Largest All-Electric Commercial Aircraft Successfully Completes First Flight
The world's largest all-electric commercial aircraft, a retrofitted Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, has successfully completed its maiden flight in Moses Lake, Washington. The flight, a collaboration between electric propulsion company magniX and aerospace firm AeroTEC, lasted approximately 30 minutes. Powered by a 750-horsepower magni500 electric propulsion system, the aircraft demonstrated a key advancement in sustainable aviation. This test represents a significant milestone toward certifying electric aircraft for commercial use on 'middle-mile' routes. The long-term goal is to offer a zero-emission, lower-cost alternative for short-haul passenger and cargo transport.
