Workington Town Centre Regeneration Plan Approved by Cumberland Council
Cumberland Council has approved a major regeneration plan for the centre of Workington. The multi-faceted project includes a new multi-storey car park, a community and civic hub, and a modern arts and entertainment venue. The plan also incorporates significant improvements to the town's public realm and spaces. Funding for the initiative is provided by the government's Town Deal, supplemented by the council. Construction is expected to commence in the summer of 2025.
