Wizz Air to Suspend Cardiff Airport Flights for Winter Season
Wizz Air has announced the suspension of its flights from Cardiff Airport for the upcoming winter season. The airline cited a "challenging macro-economic environment" and high operating costs as the reasons for the decision, which will be in effect from September 2024 until March 2025. This marks the second time the carrier has suspended its base operations at the Welsh airport. Cardiff Airport officials expressed their disappointment but noted that discussions with Wizz Air are ongoing.
