Wizz Air to Compensate Thousands of Passengers After UK Regulator's Intervention
The UK's Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has ordered Wizz Air to pay compensation to thousands of passengers affected by flight cancellations and lengthy delays last summer. An investigation by the regulator found the airline's behavior to be "unacceptable," citing failures to meet legal obligations regarding re-routing and providing care for stranded customers. The CAA's enforcement action followed a high volume of complaints against the carrier. Wizz Air has now committed to reviewing claims dating back to March 2022 and ensuring it pays what is owed. The regulator will continue to monitor the airline's compliance with passenger rights laws.
