Wizz Air Suspends Flights to Moldova Citing Airspace Safety Concerns
Wizz Air has announced it will suspend all flights to Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, beginning March 14. The Hungarian low-cost airline cited safety and security concerns regarding the country's airspace as the primary reason for the decision. The carrier described the risk level as "high, but not imminent." This move follows a period of heightened regional tensions, including a Russian missile that recently flew through Moldovan airspace. Moldova's civil aviation authority called the decision "sudden and regrettable," maintaining that flights could have been carried out safely.
